Say Hello to Sophie Young, a very talented and always smiling ETG apprentice!

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in engineering?
A: From a young age, I always had an interest in engineering. Growing up, I was able to explore this interest by building and making anything I could at home. As a result, I realized I wanted to pursue this as a career and pursue my interest in this field.
Q: What drew you to ETG specifically?
A: When I came for my first interview, I was shown around the shop floor and I saw that all the new skills I wanted to learn were available to me. It was exciting to know that I would be given many opportunities to explore my interests in engineering. Additionally, I believed that breaking the mould as the only female fitter on the shop floor, when it comes to the engineering field, added to my appeal for the position.
Sophie Young is an example of the potential that lies within the ETG apprenticeship program. We look forward to see her grow and succeed in her career.
